Blue tourmaline earrings, handmade recycled fine silver leaf earrings-OOAK

Very rare indicolite blue tourmaline gemstones, resting on recycled fine silver creeping raspberry leaves. The blue tourmalines are faceted roundels and faceted crystal tubes. I finished the earrings with sterling silver lever back ear wires, you can chose french ear wires instead, if you like.
These leaves are a from a yellow creeping raspberry plant that is used as ground cover. They have a fantastic texture and shape. I hand painted the silver to the back side if the leaves to capture the texture.
These earrings measure 42 mm or 1 2/3 inches long by 24 mm wide.

A note on precious metal clay:
ArtClay silver is a recycled product that consists of fine silver particles suspended in an organic binder. The clay can be worked like other forms of clay, sculpted to almost any shape you desire. The product is then fired at an extremely high temperature, either by kiln or torch. The binder burns away resulting in a pure silver (.999) piece. The silver is reclaimed from such sources as 35mm film and medical and industrial leftovers. No strip mining necessary.
