Mint leaf earrings, handmade eco friendly fine silver leaves with Kyanite and vesuvianite-OOAK envy designs original

A new color for my signature gemstone topped leaves. These handmade fine silver mint leaves are topped with gem quality deep blue kyanite and accounted with carved vesuvianite leaves. These are one of my most popular designs, this time with mint leaves.
I make the leaves by painting silver paste to the back side of the real leaves, sometimes more than 15 layers. It is a very zen like activity if time consuming. After they are done, they are fired in a kiln.

I gave the finished leaves and wrapping wire as well as the sterling silver lever back ear wires an antique patina. All the silver was then buffed up to a high shine.                 These earrings are 51.5mm x 16mm. Just a hair over 2 inches long.                                   If you would like these leaves with another gemstone, just shoot me a message and we can discuss options, and they will be made to order.

A note on precious metal clay:                                                                                           ArtClay silver is a recycled product that consists of fine silver particles suspended in an organic binder. The clay can be worked like other forms of clay, sculpted to almost any shape you desire. The product is then fired at an extremely high temperature, either by kiln or torch. The binder burns away resulting in a pure silver (.999) piece. The silver is reclaimed from such sources as 35mm film and medical and industrial leftovers. No strip mining necessary.
